Recently, a press conference in Kolkata announced the grand event of this Gully Cricket. Its official name is 'Bengal Gully Premier League'. It will be held under the initiative of Dream League of India. This joint initiative aims to showcase talented cricketers playing on the streets at the national and international level. To make it more attractive, popular Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been made the brand ambassador of DLI.
The organisers of Bengal Goli Premier League said they were impressed by the grassroots work of Dream League of India across the country. They decided to become the affiliate partner for the Kolkata region after seeing the structure of DLI, the talent scouting and the opportunities at the national level. Dream League of India expert and former Indian cricketer Chaitanya Nanda said, "This partnership is a big step towards expanding our reach. There is a lot of cricketing talent in Bengal. We want to showcase them through BGPL." A BGPL spokesperson said, "We have believed in grassroots cricket since the beginning. Seeing the vision and structure of Dream League of India, we are convinced that this is the right direction. Our aim is to give a chance to every talented player in Kolkata."
Dream League of India is being launched in May this year. It is a unique league in tennis ball cricket. Through this league, players will get the opportunity to participate in the Tennis Cricket World Cup and Asia Cup for the Indian team. This league will be held across the country. National team cricketers will be selected from that league. Dream League of India will have two divisions. Six franchises will participate in the junior and senior divisions. The main objective of this league is to bring out talented cricketers from the grassroots level of tennis ball cricket and give them a chance on the national and international stage. 860 junior and 860 senior cricketers will be selected for the auction.
